CGES — Group Ecosystem Services — was founded on a single conviction: that South Africa's urban infrastructure crisis demands a new kind of operator. One that integrates management, technology, and capital into a single, coherent force.
From our roots in inner-city asset management and purpose-built student accommodation as Citiq Property Management, we have grown into a fully integrated real estate ecosystem — one where property development, technology infrastructure, and strategic procurement operate not as siloed businesses, but as a unified platform designed to create enduring value for investors, communities, and the urban landscape of Africa.
CGES is a privately owned entity and is not listed on the JSE. Old Mutual, through Futuregrowth, holds a strategic stake in our business and is a considerable funder of the group.
Our scale — with 7,400+ student beds delivered nationally, R1.3bn in assets under management, and three integrated business pillars — enables us to invest in Africa's most dynamic urban sectors positioned for long-term growth.
